JAMES & CHARLIES NEW GAMES CAB
Home
Image

This is James my eldest grandson just checking to make sure the cab is comming along ok.

The cab is for him and my other grandson Charlie who is six years old,James is twelve years old,Charlie will pop up later playing on the game cab.

I have a few pics of the cab in different stages,it was my first attempt and very time consuming.A lot of the credit goes to my wife Brenda for being so patient as i messed around with saw drill sander etc,my son Tony got me the wood and some other parts so that cut down the finished price a lot,Tony is James father and his type of work as a sheet metal worker comes in handy.

The cab is in beech laminated on both sides  IE inside and out all parts are screwed from the inside so it is very easy to dissmantle if needed, the only screws visible are the 12 round the bottom to hold the base with the casters on.

And it wheels realy easy.

The idea and help for the cab came from DIGITAL ARCADE,whose administrator CHRIS was a big help by loaning me a cutter for t-moulding,and a lot of help off the rest of the people on the digi forum to get things up and running but it dont come easy i spent a lot of hours on the site and other sites involving retro.A few guys helped either in their posts or directly ,cant rememember them all .Keyamon /Chris/Richard to name but thanks to all who helped.

Another guy who was a a big help in giving me some gear was RETROGAMER (Richard Martin) a real help and a 100% guy who i will not forget and when he reads this if i can help him in anyway he has only to ask

I also had a lot of hints and tips from ARCADE CONTROLS so thanks a lot to the people on that ste (thanks lads)

Some of the pics are not right good but they give you an idea of whats what.

anyhow thats all for now just look at the pics,i will not build another cab but i will build desktops and cocktails next . Thanks for looking and thanks to all who helped either directly or indirectly. If you look at the photos of cab start with last page as i should have put them in reverse order and now i find it a long job to reverse them.

 cheers Peter
